Janice McDougall, CHRP, HTCP

Janice is a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) with many years of Human Resource expertise. Prior to incorporating Goodman, McDougall & Associates Ltd. (GMA) in 1991 she was an HR professional in the oil and gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. Since founding GMA she has been a Partner in this husband/wife human resource consulting firm that provides process facilitation and compensation services to a wide variety of organizations.

Janice and her partner Gervais Goodman work from their home/office in Millarville, The Learning SanctuaryTM near Calgary, Alberta.

Her practice areas include role reviews, job (re)design, internal and external compensation equity reviews and process facilitation with an emphasis on inclusive, appreciative processes. She works with clients to help them make the work experience a great one for their staff, one that allows people to meet their needs, fulfill the organization's goals and contribute to society.

Janice was awarded the Human Resources Institute of Alberta’s 2003 Award of Distinction for her leadership role in moving the profession forward.

Specialized training

Janice is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) through the Human Resources Institute of Alberta.

She has expanded her knowledge of systems thinking and facilitation through training in Healing Touch and Energy Medicine. She is certified as  a Healing Touch Practitioner (HTCP) through Healing Touch Program (accredited through the NCAA) and has held certification through Energy Medicine (CEMP) through Energy Medicine Partnerships, Inc.

Healing Touch and Energy Medicine are complementary medicine programs based on energy therapies that work with the energy of the body to promote relaxation and self healing. Her interest is in applying the principles of these modalities to organizational work.

She has been published in a variety of professional publications, has been the topic of newspaper articles and included as a Case Study in two Masters’ Thesis in 2002, one on Socially Responsible Entrepreneurs, the other on Leadership.
